COVID Updates – An effort to get things back to “normal”

Hello OSMD Families!

We are excited to announce some upcoming changes in an effort to get things back to “normal”! After weighing many options and a phone call with Justin Pinkerman from Governor Ricketts office, we have decided to move forward with opening the school back up! YAY! We fall under the “General Gatherings” category where our rules are 10 people and under (per room) and practicing the social distancing of 6 ft. apart.

With respect to those rules we have decided to do the following:

Monday, May 18th we will start a soft opening for PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS ONLY!
Monday, June 1st we will then start up our DANCE CLASSES & GROUP MUSIC CLASSES as normal!

Until July 1st, we will allow you to choose whether or not you want to come into the facility or if you want to continue with the live lessons.
You will be responsible for communicating with your teacher on how you would like to proceed between May 18th-June 30th! (In person lessons, Live virtual lessons or LM videos). Please have this discussion with your teacher over the next couple of weeks so there is no confusion or miscommunication.
As of now, we will function as normal starting July 1st. All lessons and classes will be conducted in the facility as normal.

What precautionary measures are we taking you ask? šŸ™‚

-Admin staff and teachers must wear a mask when students are present in the facility.
-Students have to wear a mask to their lesson, as masks are mandated until May 31st. We will provide disposable ones for the students just in case.
-Please stay 6 ft. apart from your teacher during the lesson.
-Only 1 parent is allowed in the facility per student, as this will continue to follow the 10 people or less rule in our lobby.
-Students & teachers must wash their hands in the bathroom before and after lessons.
-Rooms will be completely wiped down and sanitized after each lesson and each morning and every night at close.
-If you are not feeling well or are experiencing ANY of the COVID-19 symptoms, please contact the school to let us know so we can notify your teacher that you will not be at your lesson. We do NOT want you coming into the facility if you are sick!

I know with everything going on so many people are on different pages with how they are handling things. This decision was not made lightly and we truly believe this is the best course of action for our families, our teachers, and our staff.

We are so excited to take this next step and even more excited to SEE YOU all in the next handful of weeks! We hope you are all staying healthy and taking great care of yourselves!
