Introducing our new blog series! We are excited to invite you to get to know all of our wonderful teachers! This week we
are happy to introduce you to Diane Madsen.
What instruments do you instruct?
Piano, Organ, Flute, Hand bells and voice.
What are your hobbies outside of music?
Home decorating, gardening and landscaping and traveling. I also Enjoy reading historical fiction. I take fitness classes and
enjoy keeping shape.
Why did you become a teacher?
I wanted to be a music teacher from a very early age. I get to share my passion for piano as a profession. How cool is that?
Who is the person you admire the most and why?
I have numerous people who I admire so I would say the trait I admire most in people is the value of believing in yourself;
to be the best person God created you to be. That single trait creates so many other admirable qualities like confidence,
responsibility, positivity, kindness, etc.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I’ve been fortunate enough to do quite a lot of traveling throughout my life. Both in the USA and internationally. I’d love to
add Australia and New Zealand to this list. My grandparents were missionaries to Australia and I’d love to see where they
used to live.
What is your favorite song?
This is impossible to answer. Its like asking a painter what their favorite color is.
What is one thing you couldn’t live without?
My family, both immediate and extended. And of course a piano.
Next week we will be featuring blog on the wonderful and appreciated Mr. Dick Keiser. A talented and experienced band
teacher that has received rave reviews from every student that he has instructed!
