Hard Work Is Rewarded at OSMD

We believe our students deserve to be rewarded for all the hard work they do at the Omaha School of Music and Dance (OSMD). The students at OSMD are rewarded for paying attention in class, practicing each week at home, participating in the dance and music recitals, maintaining a positive attitude, and so much more! Let’s briefly go over the fun rewards we offer for the hard work students give.

Candy

As a thank you for coming to classes, everyone is welcome to one piece of candy at the close of each lesson.

Tokens

If the student has done a great job in their lesson, they are offered a choice at the end of each class. They may either take the token to the machine and spend the token, or they can save their token for something on the token wall.

If students choose to “spend” their token, they put the token in the token machine and get a surprise! The machine is filled with little erasers, bracelets, motorcycles, stickers, tattoos, etc.

The Token Wall

However, if students decide to “save” their token, they collect them each week to buy something on the wall. The prizes range from 3-15 tokens. We have books, fidget spinners, light-up gloves, dance bags, headbands, metronomes, t-shirts, water bottles, etc. We are always adding fun new items to the wall!

Yearly Prizes

Additionally we have milestones awards that students get for their effort in learning! After your student completes their first year of lessons they are rewarded with a beautiful medal. At three years they are rewarded with a trophy, and at five years an iPad Mini is given! Generally these prizes are given at our yearly recital in the spring, but your student does not need to be a recital participant to accumulate these awards.

Year 1 = Trophy

Year 3 = Trophy

Year 5 = iPad Mini

As you can see, the Omaha School of Music and Dance takes learning music and dance seriously, but we also like to have fun and reward our students accordingly. We simply ask that students come to lessons with a good attitude and strive their best to practice the material each week.

If this sounds like a good fit for you we would love to hear from you! Contact us online, or call us at 402-541-3899.

We look forward to seeing you in class!
