Why Consider Piano Lessons

Learning to play a musical instrument can be a very rewarding activity to someone. The notes allow for beautiful sounds and music to be echoed through a room. Choosing an instrument can be an overwhelming choice when you don’t know where to start. However, bigger is better when it comes to musical instruments so look no further than the piano! The piano is a classic instrument that can be learned by anyone and everyone. When it comes to learning a new instrument, it may be helpful to take piano lessons to learn the basics. At the Omaha School of Music and Dance, we offer a wide variety of lessons for those of all ages! There are so many reasons to consider taking piano lessons, here are just a few to think about!

1. Piano lessons exercise the body and mind. When it comes to the mind, there can be a great increase in memory learning. Playing the piano also works through different portions of the brain. This can help with timing, listening, and placing your fingers on the right keys. The piano can exercise the body through the muscles of the hands and forearms. And yes, even stretching those fingers on the keys can be an exercise.

2. Considering piano lessons at OSMD will allow you or your child to progress through the music in a smooth, orderly manner. We allow students the option to learn through private or group lessons. We have multiple piano teachers who provide private piano lessons! There are also group piano lessons offered which are either Intro to Piano or Intermediate Group Piano. Our teachers at the studio will help choose the right piano class for you that will meet your skill level on the piano.

3. Considering piano lessons and choosing to play at the Omaha School of Music and Dance will give you or your child the chance to play in our recital! OSMD holds an annual music recital where students are given the chance to show off their skills on the stage! This is a great opportunity for students to boost their confidence and perform for others!
