3 Reasons to Consider Voice Lessons

You may often catch yourself or your children humming a tune or singing in the car, but have you ever felt like expanding on your singing? There are many parents who come into the studio that are interested in getting their child or themselves involved in voice lessons. Here at the Omaha School of Music and Dance, we have several teachers who teach voice lessons along with other music and musical theater classes.

Voice lessons help expand upon more areas than you may think, but today we will focus on just a few reasons for why you should consider voice lessons. Among many things, voice lessons help to build confidence on and off the stage, provide strength and proper technique, and expand upon creativity.

1. Builds Confidence On and Off the Stage

Often, students may find it easier to sing alone rather than singing in front of others. At the Omaha School of Music and Dance, parents and children are given a private room in the studio with their teacher. Students learn with the teacher on how to improve upon their confidence when singing. All our teachers are here for you and want to help you be as confident as you can when performing.

2.Provide Strength and Proper Technique

Another reason voice lessons are so beneficial is the ability to learn proper technique and lung strength when singing. Singing is a great way to express yourself and learning the correct technique through voice lessons can help add on to that expression. Working one on one with a teacher gives students the opportunity to sing in their own style while still learning how to develop their singing. Strength comes in more ways than one when it comes to singing. As stated above, your confidence can be strengthened through singing in voice lessons. However, strength is also improved in students’ lung expansion. Teachers understand the importance of strengthening your lungs which is why they provide vocal exercises that are unique to each student.

3. Expands Upon Creativity

Everyone is unique in their voice and their singing style. All teachers at Omaha School of Music and Dance embrace that with open arms. As a student in voice lessons, you are given the opportunity to choose what songs you want to sing. Teachers at the studio help to take the creativity you bring to your lessons and further expand on that. Not only will you want to attend for the fun of the lesson, but our studio can be easily located. Our studio can be found off 144th and Dodge in Omaha!
